How many of you believe in this theory. I personally like it because it shows how the relationship is supposed to be. It's a team. You work with each other, and ultimately gain good things.
I wanted to hear the opinions from you guys...

I believe in herd leaders... There is definately an alpha horse in the group.
Xena is the alpha mare in her turn out pastures and I think the other ones now too hehe. There is a new boarder at our stable and the other day we finally moved her mare out, but we put her with the babies and this other horse who is usually a big wimp, she he cant go out with the big guys. These guys are in the field right next to xena and the bigger horses.
But this time, he decided not to be a big wimp, so he put the run on this poor little mare for a few minutes. The xena, watching this walks over to the side of the fence and the little mare runs up to her. And they stood side by side over the fence for the rest of the time before we brought them in for dinner. She would let other horses walk up to the new girl to sniff her out, but if they show aggression she would give them the "get the hell away" look.... And the horses on her side of the fence she would turn around and chase them away.
What a nice girl xena is, keeping the peace lol.
